Which AI subscription should I pay for?
It depends on the job. ChatGPT Plus ($20/mo) is the all-rounder. Claude Pro ($20/mo, or $17/mo billed annually) suits heavy writing and long documents. Google AI Pro ($19.99/mo) suits people who live in Gmail, Docs and Drive and includes 5 TB of storage. Grok fits people who follow real-time news and X. Grok Bot, included in X Subscription Premium ($30/mo), is for people who want AI to carry out multi-step tasks. Many light users don't need to pay at all.
Is the free version of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok enough?
For a few uses a week, usually yes. All four have free tiers. ChatGPT Free lists unlimited text chats under fair-use rules. Claude Free includes web search and memory. Gemini Free includes Deep Research. Grok Free gives limited chat requests. Upgrade only if you keep hitting the limits.
What is the cheapest paid AI plan?
As of October 21, 2026, Google AI Plus costs $4.99/mo and is the cheapest paid plan we found. ChatGPT Go ($8/mo in the US, may include ads) and X Subscription Plus ($8/mo, includes Grok) come next.
How much is ChatGPT Plus?
$20 per month in the US, monthly billing, per OpenAI's help center as checked October 21, 2026.
How much is Claude Pro?
$20 per month billed monthly, or $17 per month on the annual plan ($200 billed up front), per claude.com/pricing.
How much does Grok cost?
Grok has a free tier. Paid access now comes through The X Subscription: Plus $8/mo, Premium $30/mo, Super $100/mo, Ultra $200/mo, per x.ai/pricing as checked October 21, 2026. xAI says SuperGrok and SuperGrok Heavy continue for existing subscribers, but new self-serve customers choose X Subscription plans.
What is Grok Bot and how much is it?
Grok Bot is xAI's assistant app that runs tasks on its own cloud computer and can work inside your apps. It is included on X Subscription Premium ($30/mo), Super and Ultra. It is not included on Free or Plus. Usage comes from a weekly pool shared with Grok and Cursor, and xAI doesn't publish the pool size.
Do I get Grok with X Premium?
Paid X Subscription plans include Grok plus X Premium benefits once you connect your X account. Existing X Premium plans continue. We couldn't verify current standalone X Premium or Premium+ prices on an official page today, so check x.com in-app.
